In Crash Tests, Ford's Aluminum F-150 Is The Safest Pickup

Ford Motor aluminum F-150 is the only pickup truck to earn a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, outperforming trucks from Chevrolet , GMC, Toyota and Ram on an important new crash test.
The extended-cab version of the F-150, called the SuperCab, was rated “good” on all five crashworthiness tests administered by IIHS, including the new small-overlap front crash test, which is designed to simulate the impact from crashing into a tree or pole, or clipping an oncoming car.
